WELCOME 19 LAO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS TO ENROLL AT THU DAU MOT UNIVERSITY

On the morning of December 20, 2023, Thu Dau Mot University held a ceremony to receive 19 students from Champasak Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, to enroll at the school.

Welcoming the delegation was Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Rector, Mr. Vo Thanh Nhan - Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Binh Duong Province, along with leaders of the University Training Department, Student Affairs Department, International Cooperation and Training Department, and the faculties that receive students. On the Champasak Province side, there was Mr. BouaThong Souvannasan - Director of the Department of Education and Sports of Champasak Province, along with functional units, Lao students studying at the university, parents and 19 new international students.
Cultivating a cooperative and friendly development relationship between Vietnam and Laos, collaborative activities between Binh Duong Province and Champasak Province in the field of science education have been implemented by Thu Dau Mot University since 2009. Up to now, the university has received and trained 108 students, of which 59 students graduated and returned home to work. Continuing to implement the cooperation program between Binh Duong Province and Champasak Province, in the academic year 2023 – 2024, Thu Dau Mot University will receive 19 more Lao students studying the following majors: Information Technology, Accounting, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Architecture; obtaining the total number of Lao students studying at the university to 41 students.
Pleased to welcome leaders and international students of Champasak province, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Rector, stated that Thu Dau Mot University was proud to be a prestigious educational unit of Binh Duong Province trusted by Champasak Province as a place to train knowledge and career skills for future generations. Understanding the difficulties and confusion of international students in a learning environment far from home, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong said that the university would create the best conditions in terms of facilities, assign departments, functional departments, lecturers, and students to enthusiastically support international students to integrate into the educational environment quickly and complete their courses. “Thu Dau Mot University will be your second home in Vietnam. Please rest assured that living and studying at school is like living in your own hometown. In particular, the university lecturers will always provide dedicated and responsible support to help students grow up and have enough knowledge and skills to return to build their homeland.” - Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong recommended.
In the warm and friendly atmosphere between the two localities, Mr. BouaThong Souvannasan - Director of the Department of Education and Sports of Champasak Province, respectfully thanked the university leaders for the hearty welcome to the delegation. Mr. BouaThong Souvannasan expressed that for many years, Champasak province has received the companionship and help of Thu Dau Mot University in training and developing human resources for the locality. Among the international students who have graduated and returned home, many successful people hold essential positions in provincial agencies, making intellectual contributions to the development of Champasak province. After handing over 19 international students to the school, Mr. BouaThong Souvannasan wished to strengthen exchanges and cooperation further and tighten solidarity and friendship between Champasak Province, Laos and Thu Dau Mot University, Binh Duong Province.
Within the framework of the handover ceremony, Laos international students visited the infrastructure and learning environment, as well as learned about the regulations and curriculum. To help international students facilitate their studies and training, a team of lecturers and volunteers enthusiastically introduced and guided students to learn about the amenities for studying at the university.
