The announcement of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Thu Dau Mot University and Hanbat National University.

On the morning of January 31st, 2024, Thu Dau Mot University held a ceremony to announce the signing of a scientific and educational cooperation agreement between Thu Dau Mot University and Hanbat National University (Korea).

Attending the announcement ceremony, representing Hanbat National University were Professor Song Hye Jae - Head of the Department of Korean Language and Literature, Rector of Norman College under Hanbat National University, and Professor Gil Minho - Head of the Music Department. Representing Thu Dau Mot University were Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan - Chairman of University Council, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Rector and Dr. Ngo Hong Diep - Vice Rector. The ceremony was also attended by leaders of departments, units, and over 200 students majoring in Korean Language.

Additionally, delegates from Pusan National University, Jeju International University, Hokkai School of Commerce, and the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Binh Duong (KOCHAM) participated in the announcement ceremony. They extended their congratulations on the collaboration between two universities.

Cooperation in educational development, training, and technology transfer. The ceremony to announce the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Thu Dau Mot University and Hanbat National University (Korea) took place solemnly in the presence of the leadership of both universities and international guests, marking the collaboration in the development of education, training, and technology transfer.

With a shared vision, strategic objectives, and operating principles, especially with the diversity in academic disciplines and educational levels, Thu Dau Mot University and Hanbat National University will promote cooperation in developing exchange programs for students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They will also collaborate in developing and exchanging faculty resources.

Areas of cooperation in scientific research, technology sharing, and educational resources sharing have been agreed upon by the leadership of both universities to be implemented in practice. These may include organizing seminars, workshops, exchanging experiences, knowledge, and skills related to educational science. Cooperating in research into products and technology services to jointly solve specialized projects will also be undertaken. At the same time, based on the capacity and development orientation of each university, this will be concretized into the construction of suitable cooperative programs.

In the congratulatory speech on the excellent cooperation between the two universities, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong - Rector of Thu Dau Mot University, emphasized that the practical contents of the agreement have opened up opportunities for exchanges and academic enhancement by promoting the strengths of both universities. This also provides an opportunity for students, learners, and researchers from Thu Dau Mot University to study in a leading advanced educational environment in Korea. With confidence in the fruitful cooperation between the two universities, Professor Song Hye Jae - Head of the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Hanbat National University affirmed that both parties will actively promote activities to ensure that the provisions of the agreement truly deepen, fostering close and sustainable connections, and bringing tangible benefits to learners and educational institutions. As part of the series of activities celebrating the cooperative relationship between Thu Dau Mot University and Hanbat National University, lecturers and students from both universities collaborated to organize an artistic program honoring and promoting the cultural heritage and music of Vietnam and Korea. At the event, Professor Gil Minho - Head of the Music Department - Hanbat National University, lecturers and students from Thu Dau Mot University, performed famous international opera pieces from both Korea and Vietnam. Particularly noteworthy was the spontaneous collaboration between Professor Gil Minho and Dr. Nguyen Thi Luu An - Director of the Music Program at Thu Dau Mot University. They performed the piece O sole Mio (My Sunshine), which brought the audience to unexpected uplifting emotions in music.

After the signing ceremony and cultural and artistic exchange, Thu Dau Mot University, Hanbat National University, Pusan National University, JeJu International University, and Hokkai School of Commerce proceeded to organize a scientific workshop under the theme "Researching Cultural Aspects of the Korean Language." This workshop served as a forum for lecturers and students specializing in Korean Language to enhance the quality of teaching, learning and research, and academic exchange in the fields of culture and language.

Since 2022, the Korean Language program has been officially offered at Thu Dau Mot University and has quickly become a popular major that attracts a large number of candidates. Currently, the program has attracted over 300 students. Since its establishment, the Korean Language program has received significant attention and support from Korean associations and businesses in Vietnam. Additionally, it has continuously expanded its collaboration with reputable universities in Korea, such as Hanbat National University, Hannam University, Pusan National University, JeJu International University, Chungnam National University, Daeduk University, Mokwon University, and Woosong University…
