Thu Dau Mot University mutually joined in the music project sponsored by the Erasmus Foundation

From September 11-16, 2023, members from Thu Dau Mot University engaged in working on program in Palermo city, Italy on the project Promoting music training in universities in Vietnam - Vietnam Music Universities Spurring (VIETMUS)

Representatives of Thu Dau Mot University are Dr. Nguyen Thi Luu An - Director of Music Program, Faculty of Cultural Industries, PhD. Nguyen Khoa Truong An - Head of International Cooperation and Training Department. Attending the program were representatives from Vietnamese universities such as Ha Long University, Da Nang University of Education, Central University of Art Education, Dong Thap University; and international partners including Alessandro Scarlatti Conservatory (Italy), Eramushogeschool Brussel (Belgium), European Association of Instruments and Music Students (Belgium), Yasar University (Turkey).

VIETMUS is an international project funded by the European Educational and Cultural Executive through the Erasmus Foundation, with the goal of promoting artistic creativity and promoting the implementation of digital technology in music education in Vietnam. Spending perpetually in a 5-day working program at the Alessandro Scarlatti Conservatory of Music, Partner University in Vietnam and Europe shared the current situation in music training, proposed plans and methods for project implementation. Projects were suggested to work on packages. In addition, the representatives of Vietnam’s universities also visited and experienced digital technology classes and learn about theater models in Palermo city.

Participating as a member of the VIETMUS project has opened up opportunities for development of music training at Thu Dau Mot University, strengthening international cooperation capacity in the field of art and creating many opportunities to advertise the image of the school. In particular, the application of digital technology in music training will help minimize barriers about time and space in order to creating chances for students to access and learn more flexibly and effectively.
