Thu Dau Mot University and Kyung Hee University Establish Cooperative Relations in Training, Research and Cultural Exchange

The meeting was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Le Tuan Anh (Chairman of the University Council) and Dr. Bui Thanh Khiet (Vice-Rector) from Thu Dau Mot University, along with leaders of functional units. Kyung Hee University was represented by Dr. Kim Jong Bok (Vice-Director of Foreign Affairs), Mr. Cho Byung Ryul (Head of the Foreign Affairs Department), and Mr. Lee Yong Hwi (Head of the Planning Department of the Institute of International Education).
Welcoming the Kyung Hee University delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tuan Anh provided an overview of Thu Dau Mot University's development history, educational orientation, and notable achievements in higher education, scientific research, and technology transfer. He highlighted the university's strengths in Pedagogy, Technology, Environmental Sciences, and Languages (especially Korean Language). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tuan Anh noted that for many years, Thu Dau Mot University has supplied significant human resources for local development, the Southeast region, and Vietnam as a whole. In particular, the university's graduates have made positive contributions to Korean enterprises operating in Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City. He also mentioned that existing collaborations between Thu Dau Mot University and Korean universities and businesses have yielded positive results, enhancing academic exchanges, expertise sharing, and training quality.
To leverage the strengths of both institutions, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tuan Anh proposed several key areas for cooperation: Short-term and long-term student exchange programs; Internship opportunities at Korean enterprises for Thu Dau Mot University students and vice versa; Faculty and researcher exchanges for guest lectures and joint research projects; Development of joint training programs; Transfer of educational programs and training models; Applied research collaboration focused on international publications and technology transfer, particularly in science and engineering fields, as well as university-industry cooperation models
In response, Dr. Kim Jong Bok expressed gratitude for the warm reception and shared information about Kyung Hee University, which was founded in 1960 and currently operates three campuses in Seoul, Yongin (Global Campus), and Gwangneung. The university offers 30 undergraduate programs and 10 master's programs, with a strong focus on scientific research and internationalized education. Dr. Kim noted that both institutions share similarities in terms of scale, academic fields, and research orientation. He appreciated Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tuan Anh's cooperation proposals and expressed hope for swift implementation of collaborative programs.
Following these discussions, leaders from both universities agreed to prioritize the development of joint training programs, coordinate scientific research projects, organize academic seminars, and expand cultural exchange activities to enhance understanding between academic communities and students of both countries. The universities also committed to pursuing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a formal framework for implementing effective cooperation programs in the coming period.

5 December, 2025 - A delegation from Kyung Hee University visited Thu Dau Mot University to discuss collaborative programs in training, scientific research, and cultural exchange.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tuan Anh, Chairman of the University Council, delivered remarks and proposed several cooperation programs between Thu Dau Mot University and Kyung Hee University.
At the meeting, Dr. Kim Jong Bok expressed gratitude for the warm reception from Thu Dau Mot University and expressed hope that the meeting and discussions would open up new directions for cooperation and development in higher education, scientific research, and education.
Following the discussions, leaders from both universities agreed to prioritize the development of joint training programs, coordinate scientific research projects, organize academic seminars, and expand cultural exchange activities.
In the coming period, the two universities will pursue plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a formal framework for the effective implementation of cooperation programs in the next phase.
