Thu Dau Mot University was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tuan Anh, Secretary of the University Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Hong Diep, Vice Rector; representatives of university units; and more than 300 Korean Language students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Korean companies affiliated with KOCHAM HCMC (Binh Duong) have awarded scholarships to Korean Language students at Thu Dau Mot University. Over the years, KOCHAM and its member companies have also supported the university through a range of activities, including providing learning equipment and supporting the teaching of Listening and Speaking and Korean Culture courses. These initiatives have helped strengthen the connection between university education and the practical needs of businesses.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Hong Diep, Vice Rector, expressed the university's sincere appreciation for the continued support that KOCHAM HCMC (Binh Duong) and Korean businesses have provided to its students. He noted that scholarships for students who perform well academically and in their personal development, as well as for those facing financial difficulties, provide meaningful assistance while also recognizing their perseverance and efforts throughout their studies. Beyond financial support, the partnership with KOCHAM and Korean companies gives Korean Language students additional motivation to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and professional competencies as they prepare for their continued studies and future careers.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Hong Diep also emphasized that this cooperation provides a strong foundation for the university to deepen its engagement with the Korean business community and align collaborative activities more closely with students' learning and career-development needs. He stated: "Looking ahead, Thu Dau Mot University hopes to continue working with KOCHAM HCMC (Binh Duong) and Korean businesses in education and training, internships, practical workplace experience, industry engagement, and creating job opportunities for students. Through these activities, students will have more opportunities to gain first-hand experience in professional settings and further develop the competencies required by employers."
Mr. Kang Hyoung Sik, Standing Vice Chairman of KOCHAM HCMC (Binh Duong), noted that KOCHAM was established in 2001 and that 2026 marks its 25th year of operation. Over the past 25 years, the association has carried out a wide range of corporate social responsibility initiatives for local communities, including programs that support education and the development of young talent. "The students receiving support today are not only scholarship recipients; they are also part of the future workforce and may go on to serve as bridges connecting Vietnam and Korea. This is also why KOCHAM and its member companies continue to offer support programs for students majoring in Korean Language," Mr. Kang Hyoung Sik emphasized.
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan, a fourth-year Korean Language student and one of the scholarship recipients, said that the KOCHAM scholarship not only helps students ease their financial burden but also encourages them to continue striving in their studies and personal development. She added that the support and engagement of KOCHAM and Korean businesses motivate students to further strengthen their professional expertise, language proficiency, and practical skills, helping them prepare for their careers after graduation.
"The support from KOCHAM and Korean businesses also reflects the trust and expectations they place in the current generation of Korean Language students. In appreciation of that support, each of us will continue to work hard in our studies, develop our skills and character, and improve ourselves. We also hope that, as we move forward, we can put our abilities to good use, contribute to the community and to businesses, and become bridges that help strengthen cooperative ties between Vietnam and Korea," Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan shared, visibly moved.
