AWARDING PRIZES OF THE 2023 KOREA - VIETNAM YOUTH CREATIVE IDEAS COMPETITION

12 allied teams between 5 Korean universities and 7 Vietnamese universities participated in the 2023 Korea - Vietnam Youth Creative Ideas Competition. The Champion Prize of the competition was awarded to students of Thu Dau Mot University and students of Hanbat National University (Korea).
On the afternoon of November 29, 2023, at Thu Dau Mot University, the final round and awarding of the 2023 Korea - Vietnam Youth Creative Ideas Competition took place. Attending and congratulating the participating teams were Mr. Nguyen Van Loc - Member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Mr. Tran Trong Tuyen - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology. On the side of the Korea Industry-University Cooperation Agency, there were Mr. Jeung Yun Ho - Chairman of the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities in Daejeon City, Mr. Lee Sang Do - Chairman of LINC 3.0, Mr. Jung Chulho - Director of LINC 3.0, and representatives from Chungnam National University, Hanbat National University, Daedeok University, Mokwon University, and Woosong University. On the Vietnamese universities side, there was Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong - Rector of Thu Dau Mot University, along with leaders representing Eastern International University, Vietnam-Germany University, Binh Duong University, Binh Dương Economics and Technology University, Vietnam-Singapore Vocational College, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education.
2023 Korea - Vietnam Youth Creative Ideas Competition took on the theme of "Smart City and Smart Mobility". The competition had the participation of 12 teams, allied between 5 Korean universities (including Chungnam National University, Hanbat National University, Daedeok University, Mokwon University, and Woosong University) and 7 Vietnamese universities (Thu Dau Mot University, Eastern International University, Vietnam-Germany University, Binh Duong University, Binh Duong Economics and Technology University, Vietnam-Singapore Vocational College, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education). Promoting the spirit of creative work, competing teams participated in exchanges and discussions to propose ideas and solutions to help the authorities of Binh Duong province, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Korea in solving difficulties and challenges in construction and creating smart cities. Based on the criteria of the competition (environmentally friendly, residential utilities, technology development, economic development, trade, healthcare, smart transportation), 12 teams developed ideas such as: Making an accurate pipe network using a capsule GPS model; Smart traffic light systems; Safety level control system for road and bridge projects; Rain gutter management system to solve the problem of flooding in Binh Duong province; Proposed power generation system using public bicycles; Smart vehicle management system; Smart waste collection system; Charging station/mobile charging shaft,…
With the initiative "Making an accurate pipe network using a capsule GPS model", the alliance team of students from Thu Dau Mot University and students from Hanbat National University (Korea) excellently won the Champion prize of the competition. This initiative uses a capsule GPS locator to measure the water supply and drainage pipe system to detect damaged parts, rebuild a leaky and damaged water supply and drainage pipe network accurately, and prevent collapsing water supply and drainage pipes and flooding, thereby helping management agencies improves efficiency in inspecting, maintaining and promptly repairing water supply and drainage pipes when damaged. The contest organizers also awarded the Second prize to the alliance between Binh Duong University and Chungnam National University with the solution "Smart traffic light system"; The two Third prizes went to the alliance of Binh Duong University and Chungnam National University, and the alliance of Binh Duong Economics and Technology University and Daedeok University.
Taking place at Thu Dau Mot University, the 2023 Korea - Vietnam Youth Creative Ideas Competition is part of a series of activities under the University-Industry Collaboration Program between Daejeon City and Binh Duong Province in 2023. These solutions and initiatives have shown the perspective and capacity of the young generation, contributing to working with the government and management agencies to solve challenges and build a smart city in the near future. In particular, on November 28, 2023, also at Thu Dau Mot University, cooperation agreements on science and education between 11 universities in Vietnam and Korea were signed, becoming a foundation for universities to continue their next activities and projects, and continue to build, further enhance the solidarity and friendship of the two countries Vietnam - Korea, between the two provinces of Binh Duong - Daejeon.
