On the morning of November 28th, 2023, a signing ceremony for collaboration among universities in Vietnam and South Korea took place at Thu Dau Mot University. Simultaneously, the 2023 Korea - Vietnam Youth Creative Ideas Competition was officially open.
The activities under the University-Industry Collaboration Program between Daejeon City and Binh Duong Province in 2023 featured the participation of Mr. Jeung Yun Ho, Chairman of the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities in Daejeon City; Mr. Lee Sang Do, President of LINC 3.0; Mr. Jung Chul-ho, Director of LINC 3.0; and representatives from Chungnam National University, Hanbat National University, Daedeok University, Mokwon University, and Woosong University. On the Vietnamese side, attendees included Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Rector of Thu Dau Mot University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Cuong, Vice Rector of Binh Duong University; Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, Rector of Eastern International University; Dr. Thomas Aulig, Vice Rector of Vietnam-Germany University; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice Rector of Van Lang University and concurrently Rector of Binh Dương Economics and Technology University; and Mr. Le Tran Vinh Phu, Vice Rector of Vietnam-Singapore Vocational College.
To welcome a long-term cooperative relationship in the fields of science and education, 11 universities in Vietnam and South Korea jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining key areas of cooperation. The main contents of the agreement include collaboration on infrastructure development, financial support for students in international cooperative activities, development and exchange of human resources to enhance the quality of students and faculty, technology transfer and development based on the capabilities and strengths of each institution, and the establishment of a collaborative cultural environment among the institutions. Leveraging the unique capabilities and developmental directions of each institution, these objectives will be applied into the collaborative programs.
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Rector of Thu Dau Mot University, expressed his joy and honor in coordinating an event of significant importance for both Vietnam and South Korea, particularly between Binh Duong province and Daejeon city. The signing of this MOU reflects a spirit of cooperation and development, fulfilling the missions of the respective units of the two countries in the field of education, for the development of the younger generations of Vietnam and South Korea, the global youth, and for the sustainable development of the world.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Jeung Yun Ho shared that the friendship between Binh Duong Province and Daejeon City has been formed since 2005. He expressed his belief that the 2023 Korea - Vietnam Youth Creative Ideas Competition will further enhance the beautiful connections between the two regions. Mr. Jeung Yun Ho remarked."I wish all the students confidence and composure in front of the judges during the final presentations. I hope you will have wonderful learning experiences, exchange, and explore the local culture"
The “2023 Korea - Vietnam Youth Creative Ideas Competition”, with the theme of 'Smart City and Smart Mobility,' is scheduled to take place over two days, on November 28th and 29th, 2023. Vietnamese and South Korean students will be divided into 12 teams with the goal of developing smart city projects focusing on criteria such as resident convenience, technological advancement, and environmental friendliness. Each team will have 10 minutes to present their ideas in either English or bilingual Vietnamese-Korean format. The final round and award ceremony will be held in the afternoon of November 29, 2023, at The Auditorium 2, Thu Dau Mot University.
