On the morning of January 8^th, 2024, Thu Dau Mot University coordinated with Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company to organize the Opening Ceremony of the "Intensive training course on IC design for lecturers".
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Duong Province; Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, Associate Professor - Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi - Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park. On the side of the co-organizers, there were Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan - Chairman of Thu Dau Mot University Council, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong - Rector of Thu Dau Mot University, Mr. Truong Cong Minh Hien - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company. The ceremony was also attended by leaders of departments, units, and leaders of universities and colleges in Binh Duong.
The training course lasts 4 months, from January 8^th, 2024 to May 8^th, 2024. Lecturers and students will receive guidance and practical support from Sun Edu's experienced experts. The highlight of the program is that students access and use IC design software. This cooperation helps train quality human resources to meet the needs of future development of the electronics and semiconductor chip industry.
Thu Dau Mot University: Pioneer in training semiconductor IC human resources for Binh Duong province
Attending and congratulating the cooperation of the organisers, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that Binh Duong province had been actively preparing, focusing on infrastructure development, attracting investment, researching and building mechanisms and policies to develop the semiconductor chip industry in the province. In particular, Thu Dau Mot University plays an important role, taking the lead in coordinating and deploying training of highly qualified human resources to serve the development of the province's semiconductor industry, contributing to the goal that by 2023, Binh Duong will become a modern industrial center of the country. “It is recommended that Thu Dau Mot University continue to research and deploy specialized training courses in other technology fields related to industry 4.0. Departments and agencies need to support universities and colleges in implementing content to improve the quality of semiconductor IC human resource training, contributing to the goal of becoming a center by 2030. modern industry of the whole country" - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
Responding to the trust of Binh Duong province's leaders, Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan - Chairman of the Council of Thu Dau Mot University respectfully thanked the attention and profound direction of the provincial leaders, and the support and coordination of partner units. Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan affirmed that Thu Dau Mot University will quickly and effectively deploy the semiconductor circuit training program at many different levels according to international and regional standards. Thereby, contributing values with Binh Duong province to participate in the global supply chain in the field of semiconductor chips.
Realizing the goal of forming a team of 50,000 engineers in the semiconductor field
Vietnam's socio-economic development strategy for the period 2021 - 2030 has identified high technology development, especially the semiconductor chip industry, as one of the breakthroughs for development and an opportunity for businesses. Vietnamese businesses participate more deeply in the global value chain. Along with the strategy to develop Vietnam's semiconductor industry, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province is developing a plan to attract high-tech investors, semiconductor chip industry and training human resources operating in this field. As one of the province's key human resource training units, Thu Dau Mot University in collaboration with Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company organized the first in-depth training course on IC design for lecturers. This is also the implementation of the contents agreed upon by the two parties in December 2023. Cooperation activities between the two parties contribute to realizing the goal of forming a team of 50,000 engineers in the semiconductor field according to the Project to develop high-quality technical human resources for Vietnam's semiconductor technology sector during the period. The period 2024 - 2030, with a vision to 2045, will be developed by the National Innovation Center, Ministry of Planning and Investment under the direction of the Prime Minister.
Welcoming speech, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong - Rector of Thu Dau Mot University said that after completing the course, after completing the course, the teaching staff will be a core resource that can train pioneering talents for the future workforce in the semiconductor industry not only in Binh Duong province but also in neighboring areas, contributing to the development of the semiconductor chip ecosystem in Binh Duong, the Southeast region and the whole country. “In addition to this course in the field of semiconductor circuits, in the near future, Thu Dau Mot University will continue to expand and deploy training to improve skills related to other fields and sectors of the high-tech field., ensuring the supply of knowledge, skills and human resources for the province and the entire region" - Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong spoke.
Discussing the issue of "Regional linkage in high-tech industrial development between Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi - Head of the High-Tech Park Management Board said that the demand for semiconductor chip human resources in Vietnam is continuously increasing and may have no limit as businesses and companies around the world are shifting investment and cooperate in training semiconductor circuit design to the Vietnamese market. The organization of the training course by the two units today is very timely, contributing to improving the training capacity of IC design engineers, increasing the competitive advantage for the Southeast region in the semiconductor industry, increasing Vietnam's position in the global semiconductor supply chain.
