On the evening of December 27, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Farmers' Union Central coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations to organize the 2nd ceremony "Scientist of the farmer" in 2019. The title "Scientist of a farmer" is a form of gratitude of Vietnamese Farmers to the honored scientist. These scientists have the responsibility to continue disseminating and applying their innovative solutions, scientific works and efforts to the practical life of agriculture, farmers, rural areas and related fields, contribute to the linkage between farmers and other constituens in agricultural production and consumption of agricultural goods; contributions to increasing the agricultural development, farmers, rural areas and socio-economic development of the whole country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Thao Xuan Sung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Vietnam Farmers Association said: "The program of honoring the" Scientist of the farmer "is an activity to strengthen the linkage between 6 constituent in agricultural production, first of all between scientists and farmers, developing agriculture towards commodity, raising productivity, quality and improving farmers' income.
