From June 20 to 24, 2022, the Southeast Asian University Network (ASEAN University Network - AUN) carries out the 280th accreditation according to AUN-QA standards for 04 programs of Thu Dau Mot University including Accounting, Banking and Finance, Information System, Environmental Science.
On the morning of June 20, 2022, the quality assurance activity of 4 training programs according to AUN-QA standards was officially opened at Thu Dau Mot University. On the side of Thu Dau Mot University, there were Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Hiep - Chairman of Thu Dau Mot University Council, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Rector, Dr. Ngo Hong Diep – Vice Rector, leaders of university’s units, and self-evaluation council's members of 04 programs. On the side of the AUN Evaluation Delegation, there were Professor, Dr. Alyssa Peleo-Alampay – Chief and Lead Assessor of the team, Lead Assessor for the Banking and Finance program, Assistant Professor Nimit Mengveha – Assessor for Banking and Finance Program, Professor, Dr – Ing. Ir., M. Eng Herman Parung – Lead Assessor for Information System program, Dr. Irene Villasenor – Assessor of Information Systems program, Professor, Dr. Marilou G. Nicolas – Lead assessor of Accounting Program, Associate Professor, Dr. Rusnadi Padjung – Assessor for Accounting Program, Associate Professor, Dr. Tan Kay Chuan – Lead assessor for Environmental Science Program, Associate Professor, Pakpong Pochanart – Assessor for Environmental Science Program, Mr. Wanthep Nakthippiman - AUN-QA Secretary, Dr. Nguyễn Thị Huyền - Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, the local verified.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Ngo Hong Diep - Vice Rector of Thu Dau Mot University warmly welcomes the delegation of AUN experts from Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam. “The 280th AUN assessment for 04 training programs of the university is a valuable opportunity for the school to verify the training quality according to international standards. Moreover, from the comprehensive and scientific assessment system according to AUN-QA and expert recommendations, the university will absorb and improve training programs and scientific research activities, and serve the community to reach the quality assurance according to international standards” – Dr. Ngo Hong Diep affirmed.

On behalf of the AUN evaluation delegation, Prof. Alyssa Peleo-Alampay – Delegation Leader thanked the university for University’s warm welcome, trust and support for the delegation as well as for the external assessment of AUN. The members of the evaluation delegation were very impressed with the university's facilities as shown in the introductory video. Professor Alyssa Peleo-Alampay also believes that through this assessment activity, Thu Dau Mot University's position is increasingly affirmed, and the university will have more conditions for future development.
After the opening ceremony, the AUN Network's assessment experts and training programs will conduct working sessions for 5 days from June 20-24, 2022. This assessment at Thu Dau Mot University was conducted in the form of online through exchanging and interviewing with relevant units on the Zoom platform, and live streaming the facilities at the university level.
AUN (ASEAN University Network) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 1995 to promote cooperation and improve the quality of training, research, lecturer and student exchanges between universities in ASEAN.
The AUN-QA Framework for Quality Assurance (ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance) was developed to improve the quality of education in the region, and to support the mobility of learners, workers, and professionals across countries regionally and internationally. The framework has been researched, developed, and perfected to ensure that the countries can apply it in different political, cultural, and legal contexts without affecting the core values and traditions of each country.
AUN-QA has implemented the training program quality assessment since 2007. Up to now, 279 evaluations have been carried out, contributing to many benefits for the universities which are official members and associate members of the network. The external assessment according to AUN-QA standards from June 20 to June 24, 2022 at Thu Dau Mot University is the 280th assessment of AUN.
Thu Dau Mot University has been an associate member of the AUN Network since 2017. The university has had 4 programs that met AUN-QA standards in 2019, including Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, and Chemistry. |
