Thu Dau Mot University prepares for THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2027 with SDGs integration workshop

29/07/2026 14:57 — 95
The workshop was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tuan Anh, Secretary of the Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Hong Diep, Vice Rector; as well as Faculty, Administration, and Staff members.
Nguyen Thi Mong Ngoc, Deputy Head of the Department of Quality Assurance, led the session, guiding faculties and administration through the indicator framework and evidence requirements of the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings. The training focused on building a shared understanding of SDGs integration principles across the university, mapping existing activities to specific goals, identifying which SDGs are relevant to each unit's professional work, and standardising procedures for collecting, managing and storing SDG-related data and evidence. She stressed that linking activities to the SDGs is fundamentally about managing, recognising and measuring what the university already does through a sustainable-development lens - not about creating new activities or adding extra tasks just to serve a ranking. This approach, she explained, will allow the university to gradually build a unified, inheritable SDGs database that supports quality assurance, educational accreditation and future ranking cycles.
In his remarks, Vice Rector Ngo Hong Diep underlined that standardising and managing data linked to the SDGs according to the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings' requirements goes beyond simply meeting the criteria of an international league table. It reflects the university's social responsibility and sustainable-development orientation. By building a transparent, evidence-based and verifiable SDGs database, the university aims to measure and demonstrate its real contributions to sustainable development through education, research and community service. Dr. Ngo Hong Diep called on faculty, staff, and administration to standardise SDG data in a synchronised manner, coordinate proactively in collecting, managing and updating data, and help create a centralised, inheritable database that strengthens quality assurance, accountability and the university's role in implementing these sustainable goals.
By the end of the workshop, faculty, staff, and administration had reached consensus on methods for integrating the SDGs into their professional activities and fully understood the requirements for collecting, managing and standardising evidence in line with the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings. The session laid the foundation for a unified SDGs database that will underpin quality assurance, accreditation and future ranking participation - enabling Thu Dau Mot University to demonstrate its contributions to sustainable development, improve the quality of training and scientific research, strengthen community service, and enhance its position in the process of international integration.
