During the second meeeting of the Council of Thu Dau Mot University, Term 2023 – 2028, Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan - Director of the General Economics Department, Central Economic Committee, was entrusted and elected to hold the position of Chairman of the University Council. 

On the afternoon of August 15, 2023, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, chaired the second session of the University Council of Thu Dau Mot University, Term 2023 – 2028. The meeting was attended by leaders of the Internal Affairs Department, the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, and 19 out of 21 members of the University Council.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong - Rector of Thu Dau Mot University, stated that in accordance with the process of completing the University Council and key titles as stipulated by the Law on Higher Education, the conference of officials, employees, and staff members of the university elected a complete membership of 21 members. Accordingly, the structure of the new-term University Council includes 04 curent members; 09 members representing officials – lecturers, and employees; 08 external members including representatives from management agencies, labor representatives, alumni, scientists, and the community. To finalize the key positions of the University Council, the second meeting was proceeded to elect the Chairman of the University Council for the new term.

With the consent of the Provincial Standing Committee and the introduction by the Provincial People's Committee, the Council of Thu Dau Mot University conducted a vote of confidence for the position of Chairman of the University Council. As a result, Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan - Director of the General Economics Department, Central Economic Committee, was elected as the Chairman of the University Council for the term 2023 - 2028. After completing the election of the Chairman of the University Council, Thu Dau Mot University will complete the dossier to submit to the Provincial People's Committee, Ministry of Education and Training for recognition of the University Council and the Chairman of the University Council for the term 2023 – 2028.

Expressing gratitude for the trust of the Provincial Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the collective of officers - lecturers, and students of the university, Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan affirmed that together with the members of the University Council, they will work collectively and with determination to enhance the role and responsibilities and to effectively implement the activities of the University Council. Thereby, contributing to the development of the scientific and educational values of the university.

Conveying the trust of the provincial leadership, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, proposed that the new-term University Council should focus on unity, leverage professional expertise, and managerial experience, and formulate appropriate plans and strategies in line with the reality of the university and the context of higher education in Vietnam. To strengthen the functions of the University Council, a channel of communication should be established to ensure transparency, enabling all members to grasp the real situation and timely provide opinions, suggestions for solutions, and resolution of difficulties and challenges in the university's operations. "By harnessing comprehensive strength, the University Council, along with the  officers - lecturers, and students will bring about new breakthroughs in scale and quality, affirming the position of a high-quality training and scientific research institution of Binh Duong province within the system of domestic and international universities," said the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee with expectation.

In the upcoming sessions, the University Council will continue to carry out the election of key leadership positions, including Rector, Vice Rector, and concurrently, discuss and establish the operational regulations of the University Council for the new term.

The second session of the University Council of Thu Dau Mot University II, Term 2023-2028, has been conducted with all the necessary procedures to elect the position of President of the University Council.

The members of the University Council conducted a vote of confidence to elect the Chairman of Thu Dau Mot University's University Council for the term 2023 - 2028.

Dr. Doan Ngoc Xuan, Director of the General Economics Department, Central Economic Committee, has been elected as the Chairman of the University Council for the term 2023 - 2028.

Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivered a speech at the meeting.

In the upcoming sessions, the University Council will proceed to further implement the task of electing key positions of the Executive Board, including Rector, and Vice Rector; simultaneously, discussions will take place to formulate and establish the operational regulations of the University Council for the new term.
