OVERVIEW

Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU) is a public higher education institution under the management of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong Province (now Ho Chi Minh City). The university was established under Decision No. 900/QĐ-TTg dated June 24, 2009, issued by the Prime Minister of Vietnam.

TDMU is developing in the direction of an application-oriented university, offering multidisciplinary and multi-field training programs from undergraduate to postgraduate levels. The university currently provides 47 undergraduate programs, 12 master’s programs, and 1 doctoral program. In addition, TDMU offers part-time study programs, second-degree programs, and bridging programs from intermediate and college levels to university level; professional training and certification in pedagogy, foreign languages, and information technology in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Training’s regulations; as well as short-term professional development and certification courses in accounting, construction, and semiconductor design to meet business demands and learners’ needs.

TDMU has been nationally accredited for education quality, is a member of the global CDIO network, and an associate member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN). The university has established partnerships with over 50 educational and research institutions both domestically and internationally, and signed cooperation agreements with nearly 300 reputable enterprises, operating a collaborative network among “Government – Academia – Industry” to enhance curriculum innovation, scientific research, technology transfer, and socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City, the Southern Key Economic Region, and the entire country.

To be a center for human resource development, research, and innovation serving the socio-economic development and international integration of Binh Duong Province (now Ho Chi Minh City), the Southeast region, and Vietnam as a whole.

  • Develop Thu Dau Mot University in alignment with the goal of improving the quality of human resource training based on modern standards, approaching advanced higher education models in the region and the world. Training activities are closely linked with scientific research, technology transfer, and innovation, responding promptly to the labor market and contributing directly to the socio-economic development of Binh Duong Province (now Ho Chi Minh City), the region, the nation, and beyond.
  • Transform TDMU into a smart, multidisciplinary university — a leading center for high-quality human resource training, scientific research, technology transfer, and innovation in Binh Duong Province (now Ho Chi Minh City), the Southeast region, and the nation — meeting the requirements of growth model innovation, economic and labor restructuring in the new era.
  • Develop the university based on the effective use and enhancement of internal resources, combined with the proactive mobilization of external resources. Internal human resources are the core and decisive factor, while external resources play an essential and breakthrough role.

TRAINING FACILITIES
The university currently operates two campuses:
  • Campus 1: Covering an area of 6.67 hectares, located in Phu Loi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Phu Hoa Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province).
  • Campus 2: Covering an area of 57.6 hectares, located in Thoi Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly My Phuoc Ward, Ben Cat Town, Binh Duong Province).
