RICE - 2020 International Conference " Research in Intelligent and Computing in Engineering " is a form of high quality international academic exchange among scientists as well as domestic and foreign experts on recent advances as well as future trends in intelligent computing research in the fields of engineering, information technology, and intelligent systems, electricity - electronics, mechatronics, and applications. The first conference was held in Nagpur - India (2016), the following conferences were held in Uttrakhand - India (2017), El Salvador (2018), Hanoi - Vietnam (2019).

In 2020, the fifth conference was hosted by Thu Dau Mot University. From the head-operating place at Thu Dau Mot University, the conference has connected with more than 100 experts from many countries, such as India, Vietnam, England, France, El Salvador, South Korea, Thailand, Germany ,etc. The conference gathered 250 papers, after the peer review of the Organizing Committee and more than 100 international scientists, there were 110 accepted papers (80 papers presented in conference proceedings, 30 presented through video). At the same time, the conference proceedings will be published in Springer Publishing's digital library, which is on the Scopus index list.

The RICE Conference - 2020 V is organized in 2 sessions (symposium and plenary). The symposium took place in the morning, with 7 sub-committees presenting and discussing topics: smart production - Technology 4.0; intensive research on intelligent systems; research on artificial intelligence and machines; IoT and application; signal processing and network communication; advances in modern AI and healthcare; Wireless sensor networks and applications. The plenary session took place in the afternoon of the same day with two typical presentations on robot application in the rehabilitation of Professor Manuel Cardona from Don Bosco University - El Salvador; Presentation on obstacle identification routing algorithm of Prof. Prasant Kumar Pattnaik from KIIT University - India.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Hoang Trong Quyen - Vice Rector affirmed that the participation and active contributions of Vietnamese experts, scientists, and others have contributed to the success of RICE - 2020. The conference is a valuable opportunity for researchers, practitioners in the sector as well as interdisciplinary groups to share experiences, exchange new ideas in emerging technologies and creative applications, especially in the field of intelligent computing, data science, and intelligent systems. The research results and recommendations at the conference not only contribute positively to the development of the IT industry but also serve as a premise to create new ideas, new approaches to the development of intelligent computing in the fields of engineering, information technology, and intelligent systems, electricity - electronics, mechatronics, and applications. He added that, following the success of this conference, Thu Dau Mot University continued to be selected as the host unit for organizing the 6th RICE conference in 2021.
