Thu Dau Mot University congratulates the 8th anniversary of National Pingtung University

On October 14, 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Van Hiep - Chairman of University Council and Dr. Ngo Hong Diep - Vice Rector attended the 8th Anniversary of the National Pingtung University (Taiwan) through an online platform.

On the behalf of Thu Dau Mot University, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Hiep sincerely congratulates the achievements that National Pingtung University has achieved on the 8-year journey of construction and development. In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Hiep shared about the 5-year journey between the two schools to establish a cooperative relationship. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen believes that the two universities having similarities in culture and educational cooperation will continue to have strong development steps in areas such as academic and experience exchange in the coming time.

With the goal of finding solutions, building effective policies and educational models of universities after the pandemic, in a series of commemorative activities, National Pingtung University held a scientific forum with the Theme "Challenges of Future University in the Post COVID-19 Pandemic". The forum was attended by more than 50 universities and academies from many countries as Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Korea, Japan, etc. Contributing to the forum, Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep shared the presentation "Covid-19 pandemic: Challenges and opportunities for higher education reform". Along with pointing out the difficulties and challenges of educational institutions, the discussion suggested solutions for the higher education reform process in order to adapt to the new context and anticipate the trends of the times.

According to Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Hiep, the situation of the pandemic has promoted distance learning format, activating universities to quickly participate in the digital transformation process, combining technology, education and training, and digital capabilities, etc. From that, many smart education models have developed as technology applications formed during the pandemic, effectively supporting personalized learning; helping to access the huge knowledge store on the network environment quickly and easily. At the same time, digital transformation contributes not only to teaching activities but also to management and scientific research in various forms, from the digitization of management information to the connection of databases and materials, deploying online services to teaching, learning, testing, assessing, digitalizing materials, digital libraries, virtual laboratories, etc. Assoc. Prof. Hiep also emphasized that “Since the Covid-19 crisis, the law is dedicated to Higher education also needs to be improved, allowing schools to be flexible and creative enough in emergency situations of a pandemic or a similar event in the future”


Attending the forum, leaders of universities also strongly pointed out issues that need attention and continued to make efforts to promote cooperation in higher education among universities in Asia, especially in post-Covid-19 period.
